2nd Event Fully Dedicated to OOS - Background
Following the successful 1st bilateral DLR-CSA workshop "OOS 2002 - Defining A Way Forward" (25-26, November 2002, Germany) this follow-on workshop was equally successful.
On October 1st and 2nd 2004, just before IAC 2004, the 2nd Workshop on On-Orbit Servicing of Space Infrastructure Elements Via Automation & Robotics Technologies "OSS 2004 - Developing a Roadmap" was held in Vancouver, Canada.
(See: Program)
This workshop took place at a very exciting time for OOS with planned demonstration missions such as Orbital Express (DARPA), DART (NASA), XSS-11 (USAF), TECSAS (DLR) and a study for robotic servicing of Hubble Space Telescope (NASA). The workshop functioned as an international forum for information exchange and discussion for all stakeholders involved in the build-up and operation of orbital infrastructure elements.
