This website was initiated by DLR and aims at developing a sound understanding of OOS and its issues and at creating a dedicated community on global level.
Since 2001 DLR has broadened the focus of its OOS-related activities into non-technical aspects as market potential, commercial implications and political as well as regulatory issues. In 2002 a first workshop was organized ( "OOS 2002 - Defining A Way Forward!") in collaboration with the Canadian Space Agency CSA, which will be repeated in 2004 in Canada ( "OOS 2004 - Developing A Roadmap").
The overall objective is to develop a structured long-term approach of how to deal with OOS by providing high-quality information and latest insights to this new, complex and innovative field of space activities and to initiate new collaborations.
